Advocacy and Outreach with Young Invincibles!
As a member of the Fall 2024 Young Advocates Program with Young Invincibles, Henry took on multiple roles to elevate the conversation around mental health and community advocacy. A standout project was coordinating a mental health workshop at the 8th Annual State of Young California. Henry engaged over 30 attendees in discussions about the impacts of hustle culture and mindfulness practices. This event was a significant achievement, showcasing Henry’s ability to organize and execute impactful community events.
Henry also authored and published a compelling personal story on mental health, sharing his experiences and challenges in accessing services. Henry’s story, “From Silence to Strength: Advocating for Accessible Mental Health Support,” can be accessed on the Young Invincibles website.
The California cohort of the Young Advocates Program brought together individuals from diverse backgrounds, providing Henry with invaluable insights and perspectives that enriched his learning experience. Through this program, Henry gained a deeper understanding of community organizing, policy advocacy, and strategic communications.
This experience enhanced Henry's skills in collaboration and virtual event planning, reinforcing the significance of addressing mental health issues within the community. Henry’s journey with Young Invincibles is a testament to his dedication to public policy and advocacy, and he remains committed to making a meaningful impact within his community.
