Building a Safer Campus

As a Peer Educator for It's On CWRU at Case Western Reserve University from January to May 2024, Henry actively promoted violence prevention and educated the campus community about healthy relationships, consent, and bystander intervention. In this role, Henry led projects, reaching dozens of students through workshops, events, and training sessions. His efforts were instrumental in fostering a campus culture where students felt empowered to share their stories and advocate for one another.

Henry organized and executed events for Sexual Assault Awareness Month, focusing on educating students about consent and providing trauma support for survivors. Additionally, he created and recorded Instagram reels to raise awareness about healthy relationships and signs of abuse, significantly enhancing the social media engagement and outreach of It's On CWRU.

His advocacy work extended beyond the campus, as demonstrated by his participation in the Ohio Alliance to End Sexual Violence’s (OAESV) Advocacy Day in April 2024. During this event, Henry engaged in meaningful discussions with legislators about critical bills, advocating for the necessary support and resources for survivors.

Collaborating with a dedicated team of peer educators, Henry helped maintain the It's On CWRU social media presence and organized various events at the Women's Center. His training equipped him to lead workshops on consent, healthy relationships, and bystander intervention, empowering students to become informed and proactive community members.

Through these experiences, Henry honed his ability to discuss researched topics passionately, present impactful stories, and connect with diverse audiences. His work as a Peer Educator strengthened his leadership and communication skills and deepened his commitment to creating a safer and more supportive campus environment.
