Reconnecting with Hope

In this heartfelt video, Henry, a child survivor of domestic violence, shares his powerful story of witnessing and experiencing abuse at the hands of his alcoholic father. His family found refuge at the Center for Hope & Safety (formerly Shelter Our Sisters) in the early 2000s. Despite his many accomplishments, the trauma of his past stayed with him. In August 2023, Henry reconnected with the Center, reflecting on the lasting impact of their support and his journey to overcome his past.
